cotton eye Joe dance

Me and my friends Kay soi and Lina created a small dance for the song “Cotton Eye Joe.” I had so much fun doing this activity and it was pretty easy to think of moves when he paid attention to the lyrics. Though we found it difficult trying to stay in sync and start at the right time but I think we did pretty well considering we had around 30 minutes to come up with moves, practice, and record. What do you think of our dance?

Thank you, KPMG

Hello Justine and the KPMG team! My name is Falen. I am a year 8 learner from Pt england school. I would like to thank you for teaching us different things and giving us new opportunities. (And providing us with delicious food)

I have only been on one trip this year, which was the second trip when we learnt about space and got to design our own planets and create aliens out of clay. I learnt a bunch of new things when you shared facts about space! Though I had to try to listen closely because I forgot to bring my glasses with me… Everyone who went seemed to be enjoying being there a lot!

Learning about what KPMG does was also very interesting. It was nice to walk around and see everyone doing their different jobs and how everything works.

I’m sad I could only make it to KPMG one time this year but I still have my memories of last year’s trips. Thank you for taking time out of your day to be with us and help us do activities, we are all very grateful for your hard work.

term 3 community reflection video

This term, we’ve been learning all about communities. What they are, how they work, and why they matter. A community isn’t just your neighbourhood. It could be your sports team, your family, your church group, or even the people you game with online. What makes a community special is the connection people share and the way they support each other.

In this video, I talk about the different roles people play in a community and how everyone can help out. I also share a cool experience where my class teamed up with Room 5 to clean up the beach. It was a big job but it showed us how much of a difference a small group can make.

Also I did NOT know my lazy eye was that noticeable

Sell us your book – Fantastic Mr. Fox

This week in literacy class, we got to choose a book and create a video or presentation to persuade others to read it. I chose Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl, a fun yet powerful story about a clever fox who outsmarts three greedy farmers. In my video, I talk about the book’s plot, its major themes like underdog triumph and teamwork, and why I believe it’s more than just a children’s story. I also explain how it reflects real-world issues in a way that’s easy to understand but meaningful for readers of all ages. If you’re interested in a smart, exciting story with a great message, check out my video!

you choose – The reluctant dragon

Have you ever met a dragon that would rather write poems than breathe fire? In my literacy class, we got to choose a book of our choice to read and complete the activities about it. I chose the book “The Reluctant Dragon” by Kenneth Grahame. It was a really interesting book, though it was kind of hard to read some parts as it was written around the 1890s. If you enjoy fantasy and themes of prejudice and acceptance, I would recommend this book to you!

Dawn raid Ethan, Tavita, and Archie video

This is my video from the novel study on “Dawn raid” I posted my novel study on my blog so go check it out 🙂 I worked with my 2 friends Maraea and Kyaosi, we had lots of fun creating this video (you can tell by us giggling in the background…) It is based on a scene where there’s 3 characters hanging out. Tavita was holding the dart board for his friend Archie, but Archie made a mistake. I hope u enjoy our super awesome video (also don’t mind my hair guys I DON’T have a bowl cut its tied at the back…)

Dawn raid novel study – 1

This is my work for this weeks part of “Dawn raid” by Pauline Veluaga Smith. In my literacy class (room 3) we are reading bits of the book and doing our work based on the parts we read, we only just started this task this week so I’m excited to see what happens next week in the story! I also did 2 activities that I’m going to blog soon. I’d recommend this book if you’d like to know more about New Zealand history and its also very interesting!
